Tips and Tricks – Excel

My tip today is a short cut to copying text in cells… if you want to copy a series in Excel such as Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday….. or 01/01/09, 02/01/09, 03/01/09…. Then type in the first thing such as Monday into a cell, then place your cursor on the bottom right hand corner of the cell.

You will see your cursor change to a cross. You can then drag down as far as you need to. It will then create a series for you. Once done you will see a little box at the bottom of the filled in series. If you click it you will be able to change the options… such as fill only weekdays, months or years.
